The implementation of MBKM program at English Literature, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, with UIN Banten.
The English Literature Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta implemented the MBKM program collaboration with the English Education Program of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Banten on May 28 and 29, 2024, at the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences. Two guest lecturers from UIN Banten gave lectures in the Semantics and Factual Reading courses.
On the first day, guest lecturer Kheryadi, M.Pd, delivered material in the Semantics course class from 08:50 to 10:30 AM. He provided material on the basics of writing good articles. Subsequently, he asked the students, who were already divided into several groups, to present their research papers for review. These research papers were assignments from the Semantics class lecturer, completed in groups.
On the second day, guest lecturer Yazid Rukmayadi, M.Pd, delivered material in the Factual Reading class. This class took place from 1:30 to 3:05 PM. He provided material on digital reading. Besides giving information about various tools that can be used in digital reading activities, such as ChatGPT, magazines like National Geographic, and book reading applications like EPIC, he also motivated the students to increase their interest in reading. As a follow-up to the material provided, Mr. Yazid asked the students to form groups and discuss the applications presented earlier. Each group was then asked to provide a review of what they had read. At the end of the session, the speaker emphasized the importance of using these applications wisely.
The two-day guest lecturer activities ran smoothly, and it is hoped that students gained broader insights that enhance their competencies, especially in these respective courses.
