UIN Sunan Kalijaga Student Wins 1st Place on the International Stage

Yogyakarta – State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has once again achieved a brilliant milestone on the international stage. Luthfina Cahyani Shintadewi, a student from the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, successfully won 1st Place in the News Reading Competition category at the prestigious ADIA International Festival 2025.

The competition was held virtually in July 2025, with the judging process conducted through video submissions on YouTube. The event drew participants from various national and international universities, creating a highly competitive atmosphere.

Thanks to her dedication and the full support of her family and lecturers, Luthfina captivated the panel of judges with her clear articulation and precise intonation. She delivered a compelling performance backed by a strong mastery of the script and expressions that reflected the professionalism of an international news anchor.

The ADIA International Festival is an annual event organized by the Association of Humanities Lecturers in Islamic State Universities in Indonesia, held in collaboration with the Faculty of Adab and Languages at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. It serves as a forum bringing together academics, students, and practitioners from various countries. In addition to News Reading, the festival also hosts multilingual competitions in debate, speech, and poetry reading, all aimed at sharpening academic and communication skills at a global level.

This achievement not only adds to the growing list of accolades earned by UIN Sunan Kalijaga students worldwide but also validates the quality of education, mentorship, and skills development provided by the university.
