English Literature Study Program Holds International Undergraduate Program Selection for 2026 Cohort

The English Literature Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga has once again opened an opportunity for the 2026 cohort to join the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). Officially introduced in the previous academic year, the IUP is an academic program designed to provide students with opportunities to gain international academic experience. For the 2026/2027 academic year, students initially enrolled in the regular program were given the opportunity to apply for transfer to the IUP through a selection process.

The selection process began with registration through a Google Form, which was open from August 24 to 27, 2026. Following registration, participants underwent two selection stages: a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test and an interview, both of which were conducted on Friday, August 28, 2026.

In the first stage, participants took the TOEFL test as one of the instruments used to assess the English proficiency of prospective IUP students. After completing the TOEFL test, participants proceeded to the interview stage as part of the selection process. The interview was conducted to assess the participants’ overall readiness to join the IUP. Several aspects were taken into consideration, including academic motivation, personal readiness, family support, and the financial commitment required throughout the program.

The selection process on August 28 took place from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The selection itself, which included the TOEFL test and interviews, was conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB. After all selection stages were completed, the selection team continued with the assessment, processing of the results, and coordination to determine the final selection results. The entire process, including the announcement of the selection results by the English Literature IUP Team, continued until 10:00 p.m.

During the process, the selection team also received guidance from the Vice Rector I regarding information on the Single Tuition Fee (Uang Kuliah Tunggal/UKT), particularly for students transferring from the regular program to the IUP. The assessment and coordination process continued until the final selection results were announced by the English Literature IUP Team later that day.

Based on the selection results, 11 students were accepted into the English Literature International Undergraduate Program. The successful candidates are:

Following the announcement of the selection results, the successful candidates participated in an IUP socialization session on Saturday, August 29, 2026, via Zoom. The session served as a follow-up activity to provide students with a better understanding of the IUP, including its academic requirements, learning system, and other preparations needed after being accepted into the program.

Through the selection and socialization process, the English Literature Study Program seeks to ensure that students joining the IUP possess the necessary English proficiency, academic motivation, personal readiness, and adequate support to undertake their studies in an international academic environment.
