Expanding International Networks, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Establishes Collaboration with Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, Thailand

As part of efforts to expand international networks, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB), UIN Sunan Kalijaga recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Faculty of Liberal Arts (FLARTS), Thammasat University, Thailand. This agreement is the fruit of intensive communications conducted by the English Literature Study Program (Prodi) at FADIB since March 2023, initiated by a visit to Thammasat University and a faculty profile presentation by representatives of the English Literature Study Program from UIN Sunan Kalijaga and FADIB staff.

The Dean of FADIB, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Wildan M.A., officially signed the MoA with the Dean of FLARTS, Thammasat University, Assistant Professor Passapong Sripicharn, Ph.D. The signing was conducted hybridly on Tuesday, 4 July 2023 from 09:00 - 10:00 WIB. In attendance at this event were Vice Dean I of FADIB, Dr. Ubaidillah, M.Hum., Vice Dean II, Dr. Uki Sukiman, M.Ag, the Head of the English Literature Study Program, Ulyati Retno Sari, M.Hum, Heads of Study Programs and Secretaries of FADIB, representatives of English Literature Faculty, faculty and university international office teams, the Head of Administrative Affairs and several FADIB staffs, along with all participants present from Thammasat University including the Dean of FLARTS, Assistant Professor Passapong Sripicharn, Ph.D, Assistant Professor Sirirat Na Ranong as the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs (Tha Prachan Campus) and Monthita Rojtinnakorn (Head of the English Literature Study Program), and several FLARTS International Office teams as well as technical teams.

This collaboration agreement covers international cooperation between the two institutions, including faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and scientific publications. Through this cooperation, it is hoped that FADIB and FLARTS can become strategic partners in improving the quality of education, research, and community service in the field of arts and culture.

In their speeches, the Dean of FADIB and the Dean of FLARTS emphasized the importance of this cooperation in opening the door to a new world of possibilities. Through this cultural and academic exchange, both hope to create a deeper cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

The Head of the English Literature Study Program, Ulyati Retno Sari, S.S., M.Hum, closed the event in her speech with hopes that this cooperation will continue to grow and strengthen in the future. She also hopes this MoA will be a positive and ongoing initial step in advancing education, research, and community service in the field of arts and culture. (ah/urs/aas/hfs)
