Proficiency in English has become increasingly important for university students as they navigate academic challenges and global competition. In response to this need, the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, has organized an English Language Enrichment Program for students in the 2026 cohort of the regular program. This initiative is designed to provide intensive support to strengthen students’ language foundations and enhance their English proficiency.

Held alongside the English Language Proficiency Enhancement Program for students of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), the enrichment program runs every Saturday from September 5to October 3, 2026. The program consists of several stages, beginning with preparation activities that include a diagnostic test, followed by practical sessions, and concluding with a final assessment involving presentations and academic writing.

To support the achievement of its learning objectives, the program features two experienced speakers, Suci Istiqomah from PLTI Yogyakarta and Ria Perdani from MMC Lingua. Both speakers deliver a range of materials and practical strategies through interactive sessions tailored to students’ academic needs. The topics cover literacy and text analysis, academic writing, communication skills development, critical thinking, and independent learning strategies.

Through this program, the English Literature Study Program reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who excel academically while demonstrating strong English language skills, independent learning abilities, and adaptability to global demands. The program is expected to serve as a strategic initiative in preparing students to compete and contribute at the international level. (AR)
