Integrated Service Center of UIN SuKa for Us and in Unity with Us

Sexual violence is a problem that can occur in various social spheres, including campus environments. The Integrated Service Center of UIN Sunan Kalijaga (PLT UIN SuKa) is established as an effort to address and prevent cases of sexual violence within the campus.

Sexual violence can be defined as acts that degrade, humiliate, attack, or engage in other actions against a person's body, sexual desires, and reproductive functions, through force or without clear consent. This condition often arises due to power imbalances and gender relations, resulting in physical, psychological, and sexual suffering for the victims.

Forms of sexual violence include sexual harassment and sexual intimidation. Sexual harassment involves physical or non-physical actions related to someone's body parts, causing the victim to feel intimidated, humiliated, degraded, or embarrassed. Examples of sexual harassment include whistling, lewd gestures, sexually suggestive comments, displaying pornography, and unwanted touching of the victim's body. On the other hand, sexual intimidation refers to actions that attack a person's sexuality to instill fear or psychological distress, whether through direct or indirect means, such as letters, chats, emails, and others. Threats or attempted rape also fall under sexual intimidation.

In response to these issues, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, through PLT UIN SuKa, provides integrated services for socialization, handling, and recovery of sexual violence victims. PLT UIN SuKa consists of three divisions: Prevention Division, Victim Handling and Recovery Division, and Perpetrator Enforcement Division. Each division is composed of representative faculty members from various faculties at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
