The participants of the 2025 TOEFL Score Upgrading Program are attending training at the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences.
Yogyakarta – The English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB), UIN Sunan Kalijaga (SuKa), has once again launched the TOEFL Score Upgrading program targeted at the 2022 cohort of English Literature students. Running from April 19 to June 7, 2025, this program aims to improve students’ TOEFL scores and strengthen their English skills in listening, structure, and reading. All English Literature students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta are required to achieve a minimum English language competency test score of 500 as part of their graduation requirements.
This TOEFL Score Upgrading activity is a regular program designed to support sixth-semester students in preparing for the English Competency Test conducted by the UIN SuKa Language Center. It is expected that after completing this program, students can focus more on writing their thesis or journal articles.
On Friday, April 18, 2025, all sixth-semester students took a pre-test to assess their current TOEFL scores. The training sessions, comprising eight meetings, are held every Saturday from April 19 to June 7, 2025. On non-meeting days, students are given daily practice tasks. A post-test will be held on June 14, 2025, to measure their progress after participating in the program for about a month.
The 73 student participants of the TOEFL Score Upgrading Program have shown great enthusiasm, as the program provides them with the opportunity to study together and improve both their TOEFL scores and overall English proficiency. The training sessions are held in a classroom setting and guided by experienced TOEFL instructors: Ms. Ellia, Ms. Kurniyah, and Mr. Ahmad Ismail. (AMP)
