Visit of UIN Sunan Kalijaga's English Literature Program Team to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok: Educational Cooperation and Student Internship

Bangkok, Thailand - On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the English Literature Program Team from the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga visited the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bangkok, located at 600-602 Petchburi Road Ratchatewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand.
The visit was received by the Education and Cultural Attaché (Atdikbud), Ir. Achmad Wicaksono, M.Eng., Ph.D., along with the staff of Atdikbud, Ms. Sari Suharyo and Mr. M Sofiyan. During the visit, Mr. Achmad Wicaksono provided recommendations for several Muslim schools in Bangkok and the surrounding areas that have the potential to attract new students to UIN Sunan Kalijaga, such as Tham Islam School and Santichon Islamic School (SIS).
Furthermore, Atdikbud also provided information about student internships as part of students' personal development and as an implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The internship program at KBRI Bangkok is open to students recommended by the university, preferably those in at least their fifth semester. KBRI Bangkok accepts a maximum of 15 student interns from universities across Indonesia every month. This internship program is a form of cooperation with KBRI. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with KBRI and other Indonesian embassies worldwide can be arranged through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Regarding cooperation with various universities in Thailand, Atdikbud suggested maximizing collaborative efforts such as student exchange, visiting scholar programs, joint research, and activities related to the three pillars of higher education. These collaborations can be followed by the signing of Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) or Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). (AAS/URS)
