Yogyakarta — UIN Sunan Kalijaga, through its Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), organized a Self-Evaluation Report (SER) Preparation Workshop as part of the university’s efforts toward international accreditation under ACQUIN. The workshop was held on Monday and Tuesday, 24–25 November 2025, at Grand Rohan Yogyakarta and was attended by nearly all study programs, including the English Literature Study Program as one of the participants.
The workshop was opened by Prof. Ir. Dwi Agustina Kurniawati, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPM, ASEAN Eng., Chairperson of LPM UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of improving international accreditation for study programs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. According to her, ACQUIN is one of the rector’s flagship programs aimed at promoting the university’s internationalization. She also stated that if the 24 study programs successfully obtain international accreditation and are combined with the study programs that had previously received international accreditation through FIBAA and ASIIN, then approximately 50% of the study programs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga will hold international accreditation.
The English Literature team consisted of the Head of Study Program, Dr. Ulyati Retno Sari, the Secretary of the Study Program, Dr. Margo Yuwono, and two additional team members. Their participation demonstrated the program’s strong commitment to ensuring that the preparation of the SER document is accurate, measurable, and aligned with ACQUIN standards.
Throughout the workshop, participants received guidance on the structure of the SER and techniques for developing data-driven evaluation reports. The English Literature team took part in discussions concerning the integration of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) into the curriculum, as well as the alignment of supporting documents required for the assessment process.
This participation provided an important opportunity for the English Literature Study Program to strengthen its academic governance, enhance the competitiveness of its curriculum standards, and refine its long-term internationalization strategy.
The workshop concluded with remarks from the Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Nurhaidi Hasan, S.A., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., who emphasized that international accreditation is not merely about fulfilling criteria but represents a shared commitment to improving academic quality in a substantive and sustainable manner.
The involvement of the English Literature Study Program in this workshop marks a strategic step toward achieving international accreditation readiness while reinforcing UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s reputation as an institution dedicated to academic excellence and global recognition.
